Oaklandresumewriting.com is a strange writing company. We say this not only because of the messy website but also because of the way they operate. On the site, visitors can read about their services, but they cannot learn anything about the prices. You cannot even order there. There’s no order form. You need to call this company to get a quote, see if they can do your job application, and when.

It says here that you get your products in up to 5 days, but there’s no information about earlier deadline options, discounts, or features of any sort. We have reviewed many sites where you can instantly order or at least request bids on the website, but this is something entirely different. The idea of having to place an order on the phone for an online service to provide you with a resume is new to us, and a bit frustrating.

We still aren’t sure what this means considering that they didn’t offer to provide a free revision or a refund despite our poorly crafted resume.

Oakland Resume Writing offers more than just resumes. They have cover letters, CVs, and LinkedIn profiles, in addition, to resume services for California-based customers. Interestingly, this company decided to limit its selling scope to only California. They say to provide ”professional resume writing services for Oakland, the Bay Area, and other cities in California”.

The website mentions many different essay types, but there isn’t a full list to be found anywhere. You need to scour the pages on your own and see if they have what you need. Then, you need to call them to confirm. The site mentions nothing about services like thank-you letters, follow-up letters, interview preparations, etc. There’s also no mention of packages of any kind.

Prices and Discounts

Many things would make you frustrated on this website, but the most annoying thing was that they don’t provide any prices – not even a starting quote. You need to wait for their working hours and call them on a given phone number to see what your price will be.

This means that there aren’t any real discounts offered seeing how you don’t know the original price in the first place. The whole process is very complicated. We had to call them several times to get someone to pick up. We then needed to discuss all sorts of details on the phone. They asked us to send our old CV to the email. Almost an hour later, we got a quote for a CV and cover letter. The price was very high.

When you agree on what you want to order, they’ll give you a chance to use your MasterCard, Visa, American Express, eChecks, Discover, or PayPal. We still aren’t very confident about the safety offered here considering that you do your ordering over the phone and not via safe online processing systems.

When we called, we were given one price for their original deadline of 5 days. The CV and cover letter came a week later, but since there’s no real guarantee in place, we never received any kind of a refund. The quality was average for both the CV and cover letter.

If you want to rush the process, you can pay them for a 48 hours deadline. This is the shortest you can get with this company. We wouldn’t recommend it since it is extremely expensive and based on our experience with the delay, you can never be sure if they’ll stand by it.

Customer Service

You must contact customer service to get a quote, order, or get any kind of answers from this company. There is no live chat, but there’s an email address that you can write to. We wouldn’t recommend it seeing how we sent in a request for a quote and still had to call them a day later (no one replied to our email).

The customer service is professional but slow. They take too long to review your request and provide you with a quote. When we complained about the quality, they simply tossed aside all our accusations and said that nothing can be done about our problem.

Based on everything described above, this is not a good service to use. They have a good list of services and professional support, but their prices are high and the quality is average.
